Note: 1910.178(q)(5) (1998) of the Occupational
Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requires that “All parts
of any such industrial truck requiring replacement
shall be replaced only by parts equivalent as to safety
with those used in the original design."
The installation onto a lift truck of non-certified
electronic components may invalidate a truck’s
UL EE or LPS listing and could pose a safety risk.
Customers with UL-listed lift trucks are solely
responsible for ensuring compliance with UL for
field modifications. The selection of non-OEM
parts is made solely by the customer with the
awareness that OEM parts are available. Crown
Equipment Corporation is unaware of what testing
and/or certification, if any, the non-OEM parts
have undergone and disclaims all warranties and
representations regarding any non-OEM part.
