Fork extensions are lift truck attachments that increase the fork’s
effective length for handling oversized uniformly distributed loads.

When installed, fork extensions influence the truck’s capacity and
therefore in accordance with the law – OSHA 1910.178, the User
is to request an authorization from their local dealer for a new
capacity plate for their specific truck equipped with fork extensions.
Maximum uniform capacity is 4,000 lbs. evenly distributed per pair.

Modifications and additions which affect capacity and safe
operation shall not be performed by the customer or user without
manufacturers prior written approval. Capacity, operation, and
maintenance instruction plates, tags, or decals shall be changed
accordingly.

If the truck is equipped with front-end attachments other than
factory installed attachments, the user shall request that the truck
be marked to identify the attachments and show the approximate
weight of the truck and attachment combination at maximum
elevation with load laterally centered.
